Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Wesley Hunt comes from a military family and has dedicated his life to serving our nation. A graduate of the prestigious St. John’s School, Hunt went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, earning his commission in the U.S. Army in 2004. As an AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter pilot, he flew over 55 combat missions during deployments to Iraq and Saudi Arabia, defending our freedoms abroad while putting his life on the line. His military service didn’t end there—President Trump appointed him to the United States Military Academy Board of Visitors in 2025, recognizing his commitment to training the next generation of American leaders.
After his honorable discharge as a captain in 2012, Hunt pursued advanced degrees at Cornell University, earning an MBA, MPA, and MA, equipping him with the business and policy acumen needed to tackle Washington’s toughest challenges. Back home in Texas, he’s a devoted family man, married to Emily with three children: Victoria, Olivia, and Willie Parish Hunt II. Hunt isn’t just a politician; he’s a lifelong conservative who’s deeply rooted in our communities, volunteering and advocating for Houston’s improvement.
Proven Results in Congress: Delivering for Texas
Since being elected to represent Texas’s 38th Congressional District in 2022, Hunt has hit the ground running. Serving on the House Natural Resources and Judiciary Committees, he’s been a relentless fighter for energy independence, border security, and conservative principles. One of his standout achievements is sponsoring the Royalty Resiliency Act (H.R. 7377), which reformed federal oil and gas royalty management and became Public Law 118-81 in 2024—the only oil and gas bill signed by President Biden. This legislation strengthens Texas’s energy sector, protects jobs, and ensures our state remains the powerhouse of American energy production.
Hunt hasn’t stopped there. In just his second term, he’s introduced key bills like the Temporary Protected Status Reform Act of 2026 and the American Dream Protection Act of 2025, aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration and securing our borders. He’s also pushed for reforms to suspend entry during border invasions and clarify public charge rules for immigrants. These aren’t empty promises—they’re real actions to protect American workers, families, and sovereignty.
As a staunch America First advocate, Hunt was one of the first in the nation to endorse President Trump for 2024, standing firm against the establishment. He’s called out corrupt systems, fought against gun control and amnesty, and vowed to end the era of career politicians who prioritize Washington over Texas.
